About this basket

This hydrangea basket is a white wicker basket with a handle, filled with blush pink hydrangea and pink peonies and finished with a satin bow.

It suits a family welcoming a new baby or a mother's birthday. A basket stands on a table or a dresser by itself, so nobody has to look for a vase.

Our florist packs the hydrangea heads close to make a full base right up to the rim, then sets the peonies on top, some open and some still in bud. The buds open in the days after delivery and grow much wider, so the basket keeps changing. Pale salmon hydrangea under deeper pink peonies keeps the whole basket in one soft color. White tissue lines the edge.

Everything stands in wet floral foam inside the basket, so there is no water to spill; just add a little water to the foam every day or two. We have peonies all year. Outside their spring season they are smaller and come mostly in white and pink.

Will it look exactly like the photo?

Very close. Every bouquet is arranged by hand, so no two are exactly alike. Flowers are seasonal and availability can vary. If a flower isn’t available, we replace it with one of equal or greater value, keeping the color palette, style and beauty of the arrangement. Want to see it before it goes out? What if the recipient isn’t home?

We always try to hand the bouquet over in person. If there’s a safe spot (by the door, or with a concierge), we leave the bouquet there and take a photo. If there’s nowhere safe to leave it, we call the recipient using the number in your delivery instructions, and if they don’t answer, we contact you.

If we can’t reach either of you, we bring the bouquet back to the shop and hold it until the end of pickup hours the next day: pick it up at 6201 Hollywood Blvd or book a redelivery. Need it handed over in person? Say so in the delivery instructions and include the recipient’s phone number.

How do I care for it?

Some flowers last longer than others. Flowers don’t like heat, direct sun or sudden temperature changes, and each order comes with a packet of flower food.

Bouquets in a vase: mix the flower food into the water, trim ½ inch off the stems at an angle, change the water every 2 days, and keep them away from direct sun, heaters, AC vents and fruit.

Flowers in a box: add a little water to the foam every day so it never dries out, and keep the box in a cool spot out of direct sun.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Flowers and delivery date can be changed until 6 AM on the delivery day, when we buy the flowers for your order. The address and card message can be changed until the order is handed to our driver, usually after 12 PM. We email you when that happens.

Cancel before 6 AM on the delivery day for a full refund. After that the flowers have already been bought, so the order can’t be canceled. For Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and other peak days, changes to the flowers or the date and cancellations close at 6 AM three days before delivery. To make a change, call or text (323) 493-1514. How much is delivery?
