About this box

Fairy Forest is an orchid and rose box in autumn colors: yellow phalaenopsis orchids, light pink roses, white dahlias, green-brown hydrangea, brown lisianthus and carnations, purple stock and dark autumn leaves in a round box, white or silver.

An anniversary is a good reason to send it, and so is the birthday of someone drawn to muted, earthy shades over bright pink. It also makes a rich centerpiece for a dinner table, and we make it all year, not only in the fall.

There is more going on in this box than in our white orchid boxes. Brown lisianthus and carnations sit between the pale pink roses, and the white dahlias add round, light shapes among them. The hydrangea is green turning to brown, and it keeps that color even as it starts to dry. Purple stock brings the scent, and the dark leaves fan out at the edges like small branches. The yellow orchids are the brightest spots in all that depth.

Will it look exactly like the photo?

Very close. Every bouquet is arranged by hand, so no two are exactly alike. Flowers are seasonal and availability can vary. If a flower isn’t available, we replace it with one of equal or greater value, keeping the color palette, style and beauty of the arrangement. Want to see it before it goes out? What if the recipient isn’t home?

We always try to hand the bouquet over in person. If there’s a safe spot (by the door, or with a concierge), we leave the bouquet there and take a photo. If there’s nowhere safe to leave it, we call the recipient using the number in your delivery instructions, and if they don’t answer, we contact you.

If we can’t reach either of you, we bring the bouquet back to the shop and hold it until the end of pickup hours the next day: pick it up at 6201 Hollywood Blvd or book a redelivery. Need it handed over in person? Say so in the delivery instructions and include the recipient’s phone number.

How do I care for it?

Some flowers last longer than others. Flowers don’t like heat, direct sun or sudden temperature changes, and each order comes with a packet of flower food.

Bouquets in a vase: mix the flower food into the water, trim ½ inch off the stems at an angle, change the water every 2 days, and keep them away from direct sun, heaters, AC vents and fruit.

Flowers in a box: add a little water to the foam every day so it never dries out, and keep the box in a cool spot out of direct sun.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Flowers and delivery date can be changed until 6 AM on the delivery day, when we buy the flowers for your order. The address and card message can be changed until the order is handed to our driver, usually after 12 PM. We email you when that happens.

Cancel before 6 AM on the delivery day for a full refund. After that the flowers have already been bought, so the order can’t be canceled. For Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and other peak days, changes to the flowers or the date and cancellations close at 6 AM three days before delivery. To make a change, call or text (323) 493-1514. How much is delivery?
